Administrative Bureau The Administrative Bureau provides the materials and services that enable the Department to accomplish its mission. The Bureau’s responsibilities include all aspects of personnel management, information technology, procurement, vehicles and facilities and consists of Fleet/Supply Administration, Management Information Systems Unit (MIS), Planning, Research & Accreditation, Technical Services, and the Radio Bureau. The Management Information Systems Unit keeps all of the computer systems for the Rhode Island State Police up and running for our members who work day and night. The Technical Services Unit ensures all of the Rhode Island law enforcement community can benefit from the technology that is currently available. Through the Technical Services Unit, the Division hosts the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) and the Rhode Island Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (RILETS). To supplement the Technology and Communications Unit, the Radio Bureau keeps all of the barracks, vehicles, and infrastructure up and running so that communication is always available.
